INGREDIENTS
- 400g beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ cup red wine
- 2 clove garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaf
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ onion, minced
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 potato, diced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 stalk celery, minced
- 3 tbsp olive oil
DIRECTIONS
- Season beef with salt and pepper. Mix beef into baking soda and flour.
- In a skillet, heat 2 tbsp oil in medium high heat. Saute beef until slightly brown.
- Add minced onion and saute till soft. Add beef broth and red wine. Bring to boil.
- Add all remaining ingredients.
- You can transfer to slow cooker to cook on low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours. Otherwise, cover and cook on stove in medium low heat for about 3 hours. Be sure to check on it every 15 mins. Stir and add more water if it dries up.
- Cook until beef is tender. Serve and enjoy.
